Widgets are boxes of content which can be arranged on a page in frames. Learn more about how to use widgets.
When you add a widget to a page, you’ll see they’re grouped in six categories, described in this article.

Simple Widgets
Simple widgets are straightforward widgets which don’t display information from users, the intranet, or external sources. Options are listed below.
Quick Polls
One-question quick polls can be created, edited, or republished using this widget. Use it for fun surveys (e.g. favorite holiday dessert) or to help choose a company-wide event. Add instructions and as many answer options as you like. Customize the colors of your poll, when to display, and how long it displays. Once responses have been received, use the Quick Polls Properties box to view all results, download to Excel, edit, or delete.
Daily Tips
The Daily Tips widget is used to display tips which can be fully customized. Share environment or health tips, or company trivia. Add links or other formatting to your tips; show them randomly or sequentially; edit, delete, or reorder tips as needed; and change the current tip by the hour, day, or week.
Message Box
The Message Box widget is a versatile widgetwith a full html editor which can be used for displaying all kinds of content on your page, including text, links, images, tables - typical content you’d expect to see on any page. The Message Box widget can be scheduled to display for a specific period, then disappear automatically. Learn more about how to use the html editor, including adding links and images.
Image
The Image widget is used for a custom image of your choice. Use this widget to display a solo image such as a logo, to just add graphic interest to a page or to link to a website. This is the one widget which by default doesn’t have a border, so the image will show on its own. After uploading the image you can leave it at its default original size, or resize to custom dimensions.
Flash Embed
The Flash Embed widget is used for adding a custom flash filefor animation or activity which can be displayed within the widget.
Search Box
Add a quick search widget for users to search for content. Choose whether to search within the department site for people only, content only, or both options. This widget is available only on a department site.
Image Slider
The Image Slider widget is used to display large-scale rotating images. You can control the number of images, how long they display for, how long to transition between images, links for each image, and the size of the images. Click Add a new slide, choose the file, add a link if desired, and click Add; repeat as necessary. Click and drag your images as you like, then click Save Widgets to finalize.
Content Feed Widgets
Content Feed widgets allow you to show content from other parts of your intranet. Widgets include the following:
Application Feed
The Application Feed widget displays recently published content from one or more similar applications based on publish date. Items don't have to be advertised to appear in this widget, they just have to be published (i.e. saved). The widget can also be used to only show information from certain folders, categories, authors, etc. There are different display options depending on the application you target.
Use this to embed a mini-calendar showing events in a calendar or show recently published documents added to specific folders. Keep in mind when you choose an App to display that the majority are included under the choice Appbuilder, and that you have to click the edit pencil to reveal sub-folder options.

Blog Feed
With this widget, you can display recent posts from one or multiple intranet blogs. Choose the number of posts and characters to display, and whether to include a photo with the display.
What's New Feed
The What's New widget displays a list of advertised items from all applications across the site. This is a great way to show your employees new items that have been recently published on the intranet.
When publishing content, checking the 'Advertise to' box before clicking Publish sends the item to What's New; checking the 'Do Not Advertise' box avoids this. Item display is based on advertise and archive dates, and the number of items displayed can be adjusted as needed. Note that if this widget is on a department page, it will only show advertised items from applications within that department.
Site Widget Feed
The Site Widget Feed lets a department site owner publish a widget from their home page directly to the main intranet Home Page. You can use this to provide limited ability to update a specific Home Page area without providing the user full Site Designer or Site Administrator rights. This widget is available only on the main intranet home site.
Site Tags
The Site Tags widget is used for displaying intranet items with specific content tags, such as “HR form” or “project”. You can choose whether to include descriptions of the item, the author, publish date, and other details. This widget is available only on the main intranet home site.
Site Tasks
Manage a task list for your site by creating tasks, emailing users, marking them complete, or editing and deleting them as required. You can control which users and groups can view the tasks in this widget. Once you’ve added the widget, mouse over to the right and click the small green + to add tasks. The edit pencil beside each task can then be used to manage existing tasks. This widget is available only on a department site.
Tags Feed
The Tags Feed widget displays the most recent content from any application that contains one or a combination of specified tags. Use this widget to create a global list of updated or added content related to specific subjects, projects or other criteria. Customize the display by changing the number of items, including available item descriptions, or showing the publish date.
User Widgets
User Widgets show information which is specific to individual intranet users.
My Bookmarks & Links
The My Bookmarks & Links widget creates quick access to a logged-in user's personal intranet bookmarks and internet links (these can also be accessed through an employee's profile). Bookmarks can be added from any intranet page by clicking Toolbox, top right, selecting Bookmark, and giving your link a descriptive Link Title.
User Login

Social Widgets
Connect intranet users by sharing their information with coworkers.
Birthday
The Birthday widget shows employee birthdays, with the options of displaying staff from a specific department and/or location, days in advance, and number of birthdays. This widget is great for inserting into Department sites where employees who are part of that Department can chat between themselves. Note that Chat must be turned on both for the intranet (under Admin) and for the selected employees in order to use this widget. Learn more about Chats.
Employee Profiles
The Employee Profile widget can be used to feature one (or many) specific employees, members of certain departments, or welcome new hires. You can choose whether to display employees at random, and to include their job description, personal information, or photo.
Status Updates
The Status Updates widget is used for displaying the most recent status updates from your employees, which they made directly in their profile; learn more about Employee Profiles. Options include showing only status icons, showing only specific statuses such as out or sick, and limiting the number of statuses shown.

Enter the address of the feed, how many articles you’d like displayed, how often you want the Feed refreshed, and how big you want the widget. Note that the more Feeds you display, the longer it will take the page to load.
Custom Code
This widget is a free-form widget which allows you to add custom code (e.g. Javascript, HTML, XML) and have it execute within the page. You can create engaging home page widgets by searching for code online, copying the code, and pasting it into your Custom Code Widget. Try adding a world clock, or countdown ticker for a company event.
Weather
The Weather widget is used for displaying the current Weather Underground forecast for a specific location. The weather updates every 15 minutes.
Exchange Synchronization
The Exchange Synchronization widget displays a list of calendar events from shared calendars in your Exchange web server. An intranet Admin who handles the technical aspects of the intranet must alter some settings in order to allow this widget to function properly.
